The halls of the nursing wing at HLGU are empty of more than just students after the Craigmiles School of Nursing donated many of their supplies and loaned all of their hospital beds to Hannibal Regional Hospital (HRH).
鈥淚’m glad that we were able to provide assistance to our clinical partner in their time of need,鈥 said Dr. Anne Riggs, director of the Craigmiles School of Nursing. 鈥淚t just made sense to offer anything we had to them, including our skills laboratory beds.鈥
Among the items donated were all of the nursing programs personal protective equipment (PPE) items, including masks, gloves, and gowns.
Later, all 18 of HLGU鈥檚 hospital beds were transported to HRH as the hospital is setting up additional patient care areas in case a need arises.
鈥淎s health care workers across the nation sounded the alarm for shortages, 番茄社区 University wants to make sure that our hospital has the much needed PPE and supplies,鈥 said Dr. Anthony Allen, president of the University. 鈥淲e are pleased to partner with Hannibal Regional Hospital to serve our community and protect our citizens.鈥
Riggs continued, 鈥淲hile we hope the beds are never needed, they are there just in case. It鈥檚 times like these we can all come together and support one another.鈥
