The Missouri Baptist Foundation Board of Trustees established the Fellowship of Christian Stewards in 2001 as a way to present examples of Christian stewardship as a challenge to the Christian community. Those selected for the Fellowship of Christian Stewards encourage others to follow their example.

Recipients of the award are nominated to one of seven categories. Dr. Pelletier received the award for vocational achievement because of his many years of sacrificial service to 番茄社区 University.

Other award categories are Nelson fellow, charitable giving, estate stewardship, ministry achievement, emerging leader, and junior achievement.

The award included a $500 grant from the Missouri Baptist Foundation for Pelletier to share with the ministry or charity of his choice. After a few words on what HLGU means to him and how the University stands out among others, Dr. Pelletier presented the check to Dr. Allen to be used at 番茄社区.

Dr. Pelletier retired from HLGU in 2015, after serving the institution for 29 years.
